MAFCA Youth Achievement Award

Listed below are the suggested activities you may accomplish to receive the Youth Achievement Patch. The object is to accumulate points that will go over the number of points set for your grade. As one advances through the grades, he or she becomes more capable of working independently and accumulating points on their own. Points will be kept for one school year, which is from July 1 to June 30 for each year.

Here is how the chart works:

A. This is the plan ahead column. Place an 'X' here if you plan on doing this achievement.

B. In this column is the maximum number of points you can accumulate during one school year. Some activities may be done more than once.

C. Points for doing this activity once.

D. This is where you write in the points when you have finished this achievement.

Points required for each grade: Grade K=40, 1=45, Grade 2=50, Grade 3=55, Grade 4=60, Grade 5=65, Grade 6=70, Grade 7=75, Grade 8=80, Grade 9=85, Grade 10=90, Grade 11=95, Grade 12=100. For Special Needs Youth, please contact aworld@mafca to work out a program to suit the situation.

Since then the award has been presented to Daniel Holister of Amber PA in 1996, Nathan Haltman of Cathedral City CA in 1998. Two awards were presented in 2000 to Jeff Bokelman of Ham Lake MN and Will Chuber of Leavenworth KS.

Each of these MAFCA youth members received $500.

The next award(s) will be presented depending on National Meet schedules Besides the money award, several of the Model A parts firms will be donating items to help with the restoration to the award winner(s).
